Australia’s Tesla energy storage rival Redflow will tomorrow reveal its ZCell home battery in the custom-designed enclosure for the first time, at the Australian Energy Storage Exhibition in Sydney.
ZCell can store 10 kWh of energy, allowing people to “time-shift” solar power from day to night, store off-peak power for peak demand periods and support off-grid systems.
Executive chairman Simon Hackett, who recently stepped down from the NBN Co board to focus on Redflow, said he was very pleased with the design which would allow for straightforward outdoor installation in Aussie homes.
He said ZCell, which is made from recycled components, had already received a strong response from both prospective customers and installers.
“We expect to receive the first production batch of ZCell enclosures for quality assurance testing before the end of June, with ZCell bundles now expected to be delivered to installers for customer deployment from August,” Mr Hackett said.
